Successful First Term of PE at TLA
During the successful term of Physical Education (PE), students demonstrated remarkable progress across various disciplines, notably in gymnastics, football, handball, and tag rugby. In gymnastics, they honed their skills, emphasising the crucial aspects of aesthetics and balance. Students not only showcased physical prowess but also developed a keen understanding of the artistry involved in executing routines. In football, the focus extended beyond scoring goals to include strategic teamwork and effective communication. Handball sessions saw students refining their agility and coordination, understanding the dynamics of this fast-paced sport. Tag rugby brought a robust emphasis on skills such as rucking and tackling, fostering resilience and strategic thinking on the field. Overall, the term was a testament to the comprehensive development of students in both technical proficiency and sportsmanship within PE.

Year 11 BTEC Drop Down
Congratulations to the Year 11 BTEC students who showcased commendable leadership skills while delivering warm-ups as a crucial part of their BTEC Sport assessment. Despite facing initial challenges, these students demonstrated resilience and determination, producing impressive work that undoubtedly contributes to their overall success in the course. Their commitment to excellence is truly commendable, reflecting not only their individual growth but also their collective achievements as a team. Well done on a job well executed!

Year 8 Sports Hall Athletics
In the exhilarating competition of Year 8 sports hall athletics, the spirited efforts of the teams were epitomised by the remarkable leadership of captains Richelle and Cameran. Their adept guidance propelled the girls’ team to an admirable 4th place out of 9, showcasing resilience and skill. Simultaneously, the boys’ team, under Cameran’s stewardship, secured a commendable 3rd place. This dynamic duo not only led by example.

Year 11 Football
The Year 11 football team has showcased exceptional skills on the field recently, delivering some of the best performances to date. Key players such as Jeevan, Tyler, and Ben have consistently stepped up, contributing significantly to the team’s success. Despite facing tough opponents like Slough and Eton, as well as a narrow loss to St Bernard’s, the team has demonstrated resilience and sportsmanship. Congratulations on a commendable year, and here’s to building on this success in the upcoming term.

Year 7 – First Football Fixture
Congratulations to our Year 7 football team who secured a thrilling victory in their first match of the year. The boys displayed exceptional teamwork, passing skills and determination. We are incredibly proud of their sporting spirit and look forward to witnessing their continued success on the pitch.
Year 7 students competed in their first power league tournament last week and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. We came 5th overall in the competition.

Year 11 Netball
Year 11 girls and a few 6th Formers participated in a netball game against Langley Grammar. This was their first game playing together as a team and it was a strong performance from all. The girls pushed through the cold weather, and it was great to watch the ball being played through the court. The overall score was 8-8. Well done girls!

Year 12 BTEC Students Leading Primary School Festival
Congratulations to our Year 12 BTEC Sport students, who recently orchestrated a highly successful Primary School Tag Rugby Festival. This event not only showcased their leadership skills but also demonstrated their commitment to fostering sportsmanship and teamwork at the grassroots level.


The festival, held at The Langley Academy, brought together enthusiastic primary school students from the local community for a day of fun, excitement, and healthy competition. Under the guidance of our Year 12 BTEC Sport students, these young athletes engaged in spirited matches, developing their fundamental rugby skills while building camaraderie with their peers.
Not only did our students provide an exceptional sporting experience for the primary school participants, but they also served as positive role models, inspiring the younger generation to embrace the values of sportsmanship, discipline, and fair play. Their passion for sports and commitment to community engagement were evident throughout the festival.
