We are pleased to share that The Langley Academy is now a host school for Mental Health Support Team 3 (MHST). This partnership marks a significant step in enhancing the mental health and wellbeing support available to our students and their families.

MHSTs are designed to support children and young people experiencing emerging, mild, or moderate mental health difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, and persistent worries that may be impacting their daily lives. By working closely with our school, MHST aims to provide early intervention for students and families, helping to address concerns before they escalate. The team also supports school staff in developing a deeper understanding of mental health and how best to respond to students’ needs. This initiative is especially valuable given that 1 in 4 teenagers will experience mental health challenges during adolescence.

On 4 July 2025, we were delighted to host a MHST Coffee Morning at The Langley Academy. Qualified mental health professionals joined us to introduce the services offered by the team and to share insights into common mental health issues affecting young people today. We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all the parents who attended. It was heartening to see such strong engagement and commitment to supporting children’s mental health.

We look forward to offering further opportunities in the upcoming academic year for parents to meet with the Education Mental Health Practitioners (EMHPs) assigned to our school.
