Museum Learning at TLA
The Langley Academy opened in 2008 as the first Museum Learning School in the UK. On entering you walk straight into an exhibition space with stunning atrium installations.
Students enjoy exhibitions from our museum partners and curate their own, so that every term brings something fresh to the academy. They experience our creative museum learning ethos across the curriculum as you can see from our map.
Students:
- Test their fitness at the World Rugby Museum for PE
- Drink Horlicks in Business to learn about global branding
- Create a water filter in History to combat cholera
Museum Learning gives students opportunities not possible elsewhere. Our work with charities such as Oxfam and Lessons From Auschwitz gives students the moral foundations to be bold about the future. With partnerships at Oxford University, Reading University, the LSE and beyond we create bespoke projects that give them wings to fly.
Museum learning is a creative approach to study and enrichment, the start of a life long love of learning.
