We are pleased and proud that our vision of providing an exceptional education through collaboration, high expectations and unique leaning opportunities has been recognised in our recent Ofsted inspection.

The report praises TLA for its welcoming and nurturing community.

“Pupils report that it is easy to be yourself within this inclusive culture with high levels of respect for diversity”

Students are rightly recognised as having positive attitudes to learning and being polite and responsive.

“Pupils demonstrate positive attitudes to learning in lessons and achieve well in many subjects”

This judgement has helped to validate our educational philosophy. At TLA we encourage learning which prompts Curiosity, Exploration and Discovery. Our unique Museum Learning approach underpins a very wide range of activities, trips and visitors, bringing our broad and ambitious curriculum to life.

“As well as subject-specific opportunities, there are bespoke programmes,  that provide pupils with opportunities that they might not ordinarily have”

Inspectors acknowledged the key features of the ethos of The Academy,  

“mutual respect, tolerance, and excellent relationships“

Staff and students feel safe and well supported and parents value the support and guidance their children receive.

Ofsted noted that parents appreciate the education provided by TLA.

"I know my child will do well, as they have very supportive teachers and the right guidance"

Our staff are appreciative of the training that they receive.

“Subject-specific support and teaching support are readily accessible through structured time and professional development activities”

They also recognised the value of our leadership team:

“Leaders take effective action to support staff to manage workload”
