Our Year 13 BTEC Business Diploma students participated in a Dragon’s Den style event, as a part of their Unit 9 Team Building coursework.

Two teams of four students presented their unique business ideas to three Dragons.  There were two external ‘dragons’ - a Finance Analyst, Ms Deepali Walia and the Head of Content in a Marketing Firm, Mr Chinmay Jadhav. They were joined by one internal colleague, our very own Head of Faculty, Mrs Teunika Carstens.

Abdula A, Mohammed-Muzammil A, Valentin P, and Ibraheem B presented Tailwagging Treats, offering various flavoured ice creams for both dogs and their owners.

Meanwhile, Zakaria G, Aksam S, Muhammad A, and Aryan H introduced NaturalSmile, featuring toothpaste made from natural ingredients in different flavours.

Each member of both the teams had a specific role: finance manager, production manager, marketing manager, or managing director. Over eleven lessons, they created their logos, their own websites, prepared prototypes, posters, and cash flow projections.

The ‘Dragons’ evaluated their PowerPoint presentations and declared Tailwagging Treats, a unique human and dog ice cream business, the winner.

Each winner received a chocolate egg, and all participants got chocolate bars. Both teams put in considerable effort to ensure their presentations met the required standards. All in all, a GREAT culmination to outstanding two years in TLA 6th Form!
