Over the course of the last four weeks The Langley Academy have been displaying the Knife Angel Legacy artwork in the Atrium. The Knife Angel schools art legacy work draws on the success of when the national Knife Angel statue stood at Arbour Park in January 2023. Made from over 100,000 seized blades, the angel was created to help promote social change around violence and knife crime.

Hundreds of young people and residents of Slough wrote tags and pledges when the statue was in Slough. Slough-based The Art Classes Group have subsequently used the tags written to promote safety and inspire change to create an art piece to tour schools.

The culmination of the event saw students from Year 7,8 and 9 attend a brilliant assembly led by The Storyy Group focusing on ‘Staying True to You’ and making positive choices for yourselves and those around you. Students then wrote their own tags which are displayed on our permanently installed piece of artwork outside of the Theatre.
