Anti-Bullying Week 2024 - CHOOSE RESPECT
BackThe theme of ‘Choose Respect’ has come about following consultation with teachers and students by the Anti-Bullying Alliance which coordinates Anti-Bullying Week every year in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Teachers and children wanted a theme that empowered them to do something positive to counter the harm and hurt that bullying causes.
Anti-Bullying Activities - Prior to anti-bullying week all students will have an anti-bullying assembly as shown below:
- Tuesday 6 November 2024 - Year 8 and Year 11
- Wednesday 7 November 2024 - Year 7 and 6th Form
- Thursday 8 November 2024 - Year 9 and Year 10
Anti-bullying week then takes place from Monday 11 November to Friday 15 November 2024. On Tuesday 12 November, we will show our support and commitment to anti-bullying by focussing on:-
- National Odd Socks Day - All students and staff are encouraged to wear ‘odd socks’ to celebrate the individual differences that we all have.
- Anti-Bullying Lesson - Students in Year 7,8,9,10 and 12 will have an anti-bullying lesson during lesson 1.
- Merchandise Sale - The anti-bullying ambassadors will be selling official ‘choose respect’ wristbands for 50p in the Atrium.
- Optional Donation - There will be collection buckets at the gates for students to give an optional donation and receive an anti-bullying sticker to raise funds for the Anti-Bullying Alliance.
