The Art, Design, and Technology (ADT) Faculty is excited to share the latest news and highlights from our departments.

This term, we welcome our new Year 7 students, and we look forward to an inspiring year ahead filled with exciting projects and opportunities for creative expression.

Key Stage 3 Art

This term has begun with a lot of imagination and creativity.

Our Year 9 are currently working on their Trainers Project which is designed to give them more creative freedom with both sketchbook and styles, scaffolding them towards GCSE.
With greater choices, they were able to select an artist of study and research their approaches and methods. These are some great highlights of what they have achieved. Well done to Josh, Amiah, Hammad and Sundus.

We also worked together with the History and Museum Learning departments this term to give a select group of Year 9 students a special trip to the Imperial War Museum. Their knowledge of art and design in historical contexts was enhanced by this hands-on learning opportunity. The program focused on learning about paintings of historical scenes from the front line through the use of AI and technology.

Key Stage 4 Art

We’re excited to welcome our Year 10 students who have chosen Art as part of their GCSE journey!

A big shoutout to our Year 11 students—your dedication and energy in preparation for your mock exams was truly inspiring. The Mock itself was a successful day with many students creating their best work to date; keep it up!

KS3 DT rotations – Design & Technology, Textiles and Food

This term we started with lots of new design creations and inspiring stories. These are some highlights of great Keyring designs, Isometric drawings, and Desk organisers from our DT subject. Well done to Fatima, Mahit and Natania.

In Textiles, our Year 7 are starting their journey with exploring Norman Catherine’s work by creating their own creatures. Here are some amazing creature designs. Well done Year 7!

Our kitchen has been buzzing with activity and delicious recipes!
Recently, our Year 9 was making either Lemon cheesecake or Vanilla cheesecake. The outcome has been amazing, demonstrating their culinary skills and talent! Well-done to Manpreet, Taranjeet, Shanzay and Yad.

KS4 Textiles

A big shoutout to our Year 11 students—your dedication and energy in preparation for your mock exams are truly inspiring. We have had some wonderfully creative garments as the result of the mock; keep it up!

KS4 Design & Technology and Food & Nutrient

We’re excited to welcome our Year 10 students who have chosen either Design & Technology or Food & Nutrient as part of their GCSE journey!
For our Year 11 students, the mock exam is just around the corner after half term. We wish you the best of luck with your revision! Keep up the hard work!

Lastly, we’d like to extend a big thank you to our wonderful KS4 and KS5 volunteers who helped with the Year 6 Open Evening! This year, we’ve seen a huge interest and engagement in Art, Design & Technology, Textiles, and Food & Nutrition. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped us represent the faculty and for being such kind hosts.
