BackCareers Talks, Events and Assemblies
We like to make our students aware of all the pathways open to them and to this end we bring in training providers and employers for talks and special assemblies.
Scholars Club – after school talks
This half term we were delighted to welcome Creative Media Skills Institute, who are based at Pinewood Studios. Their CEO, Miss Ailie Smith and the General Manager, Valeria Janosik-Roskos spoke to students about the L4 courses they run at Pinewood and how these can help students get a career in the film industry. The courses currently available are Film Production, direction and locations; hair and make-up, costumes and special effects; art and screenwriting. CMSI will be returning to talk to students next year as they are expanding the number of course subjects on offer.
Special Assembly/Workshop
On 21 April representatives from SEGRO (Slough Estates Group) and Wates came in to talk to Year 7 about all the different companies, careers and work opportunities on the Slough Trading Estate. Thank you to Learning to Work for organising this hour-long workshop for us!
