Museum Learning Update
BackPlay Through Time
What childhood toys do you remember? How have toys and games changed over time? What shaped these changes? This terms exhibition showcased objects from the childhood collection. Thanks to National Lottery players we explored how and why toys and games have changed. Year 7 students from The Langley Academy researched and evaluated past and modern games. They used this as inspiration to create their own board games for the exhibition. Click here to explore the full exhibition online.
On Monday 10 July the Museum Learning Team held an exhibition viewing event for the Year 7 students, their families and staff. It was a great afternoon of sharing and celebration.
Play Through Time will be exhibited at The Museum of English Rural Life from 1 August until 27 October.
Party for Peace
The Museum Learning team brought Notting Hill Carnival to the classroom again this year. Using carnival costumes to support Year 7 students to develop their understanding of pattern and texture. Workshops also involved learning about the cultural context of the carnival and the legacy of the Windrush generation.
